How to install

  1. Tap Download for Android above.
  2. Open the downloaded file (from the notification or your Downloads folder).
  3. If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps. This is needed because the app comes from our website instead of the Play Store.
  4. Tap Install, then open Salty Swim Times and log in with your website account.

Seeing "App blocked to protect your device"?

That message comes from Google Play Protect. It appears because our app isn't on the Play Store yet, so Google hasn't seen it before. It doesn't mean the app is harmful.

  1. On that screen, tap Install anyway. It's the small text above the big Got it button. Don't tap Got it, because that cancels the install.
  2. If you tapped Got it by mistake, open the downloaded file again and look for Install anyway. Some phones show More details first; tap it to reveal Install anyway.
  3. If there's no Install anyway at all:
    1. Open the Play Store app and tap your profile picture (top right).
    2. Tap Play Protect, then the settings gear (top right).
    3. Turn off Scan apps with Play Protect, install Salty Swim Times, then turn it back on.

Play Protect may ask again when you install an update; choose Install anyway again. Only do this for the app downloaded from saltyswimtimes.com.

Updating: the app checks for new versions by itself. Tap Update now, then Update on Android's screen; you stay logged in. The first time, Android asks you to allow Salty Swim Times to install updates.
